DIGIPASS Gateway exposes web services to activate the Mobile Authenticator Studio app. With the app activation, security features (e.g. push and login) are enabled. Online activation handles the secure provisioning of secret keys from DIGIPASS Gateway to the mobile application. During the online activation, the Mobile Authenticator Studio app automatically connects to DIGIPASS Gateway and requests the activation message. For more information, see the DIGIPASS Gateway Integration Guide in DIGIPASS Gateway.
For the user to be able to activate their Mobile Authenticator Studio account and app, you must provide their credentials to them.
Online activation via Cronto image
For the online activation via Cronto image, the user receives the necessary credentials in the form of a Cronto image.
To activate an account online via Cronto image
On the authenticator home screen, the user taps Scan Code to initiate the activation process.
With the device camera, the user scans the QR code or Cronto image in your application or web page to begin linking the device to their account.
If the Mobile Authenticator Studio application is configured to be protected, the user chooses a PIN.
The user confirms the PIN.
The user chooses their preferred authentication method for future access: biometric authentication with face or fingerprint recognition, or authentication via PIN.
If the user selects to skip setting up biometric authentication at this stage, they can enable this feature anytime later via the Mobile Authenticator Studio menu. For more information, see Biometric authentication.
The user gives Mobile Authenticator Studio permission to use face or fingerprint recognition.
The user's biometric data is collected.
(Optional, if notifications are enabled in the app configuration) The user gives Mobile Authenticator Studio permission to send notifications from your app or web page by tapping Allow notifications.
When the activation is successful, the app displays a confirmation that the account has been activated and that the application can be used to authenticate.
If the process is interrupted, the user will see these screens:
If at any time the user taps Cancel, they will see a cancel confirmation screen and can stop the activation process or dismiss the alert and complete the activation.
If something goes wrong, the user will be notified with an error message and the activation process will be aborted.
Manual online activation
To complete the manual online activation, the user must enter the registration identifier and activation password contained in the credentials into the activation form of the mobile application. Once the entered information is validated, and depending on the configured protection method, the user is requested to create and confirm a PIN, which will serve as authentication method. The user will also be asked to add biometric protection as an optional step.
If a new user is added and activates their license, they must authenticate. The same applies when the existing user adds and activates or reactivates a new account from the Manage Accounts screen of the Mobile Authenticator Studio app. Depending on the configured authentication method, the user will either be prompted to use the selected biometric authentication method or enter the PIN they set during activation.
