Offline activation via image

Prev Next

For this type of offline activation, the authenticator’s serial number and activation code, i.e., the activation data, are provided in an image which is either a QR code or a Cronto image. This type of activation uses the same data as manual offline activation, but instead of the user having to manually enter the data into the Mobile Authenticator Studio app, they scan the QR code or Cronto image with the activation data inside.

QR codes can be generated with any barcode generator implementing the formats supported by Mobile Authenticator Studio, and OneSpan also provides a generator for QR codes and Cronto images. It as also possible to include additional data in the QR code or Cronto image. For more information, see Integrate activation data input from an image.
