DIGIPASS FX series authenticators allow you to securely store FIDO2-based passkeys on a portable hardware-based token that can be used to sign in to your Microsoft Office 365 account across operating systems and devices.

This guide describes the process to enroll and use your DIGIPASS FX series authenticator to sign in to Microsoft 365.

Before you begin

Ensure that you have the following:

  • A working Microsoft 365 account and DIGIPASS FX series authenticators are allowed as sign-in option

  • A DIGIPASS FX series authenticator

  • A working internet connection

Using a DIGIPASS FX series authenticator with Microsoft 365

To enroll a DIGIPASS FX series authenticator to Microsoft 365 on first use

  1. Connect your DIGIPASS FX series authenticator to your device (see Connecting your DIGIPASS FX series authenticator).

  2. Open a web browser and navigate to the Microsoft 365 portal, typically https://m365.cloud.microsoft/. Sign in with your existing credentials.

  3. Start the enrollment process.

    1. Click your profile icon, usually in the bottom left corner of the web page, and select View Account.

    2. On the My Account page, switch to the Security info tab.

    3. Click Add sign-in method.

    4. Select Security key in the Add a sign-in method dialog and follow the instructions on the screen to begin the enrollment process.

  4. Add your DIGIPASS FX series authenticator as a sign-in method (see Adding a DIGIPASS FX authenticator as sign-in method).

To sign in with a DIGIPASS FX series authenticator to Microsoft 365

  1. Connect your DIGIPASS FX series authenticator to your device (see Connecting your DIGIPASS FX series authenticator).

  2. Open a web browser and navigate to the Microsoft 365 portal, typically https://m365.cloud.microsoft/.

  3. On the login page, click on your account to start the sign-in process.

  4. Authenticate with your DIGIPASS FX series authenticator (see Using a DIGIPASS FX authenticator for application sign-in).
